Mister God, This Is Anna

From what I wrote last night, 8:30 p.m., just after I completed reading Mister God, This Is Anna:

I read the last few pages of the last chapter out loud. Tears started to form in my eyes as Anna was passing away. The last page, before Anna's poem, the tears fell down my cheeks, and my voice choked. I hadn't understood all the lesons that Anna imparted--or maybe I had, after all.

In real time again. Passages: 

Anna: Well, if you are full up, you can use anything to see Mister God. You can't if you're not full up. ... If you'r enot full up inside you, then you can make anything a magic thing, and then it becomes an outside bit of you ... If you do that, then you can't do what Mister God wants you to do: ... Love everybody like you love yourself, and you've got to be full up with you to love yourself properly first.

Fynn: It makes sense, doesn't it? We're all playing the same chord but it seems we don't know it. You call your chord a C major while I call the same notes A minor seventh. I call myself a Christian. What do you call yourself? I reckon Mister God must be pretty good at music, he knows all the names of the chords. Perhaps he doesn't mind what you call it, as long as you play it.

Fynn: We giggled together, both free, both now unfettered. We shared the same kind of world. We were warmed by the same kind of fire. We both stood on the same spot, on the same road, going the same way. Our relationship was now clear to me. We were fellow searchers, companions, like spirits. To hell with the profits, to hell with the gains! Let's go and have a look, let's go and find out.  We both needed the same kind of food.

Indeed.

I think this book will stick around inside me for a long while...
